A POET IN LYSYCHANSK
Red-brick and stone walls.
Blue sky and a white cloud.
The glory of the heritage.
Survived two world wars.
Black smoke poured out.
Red flames blazed up.
Through a targeted shelling.
In the school of hard knocks.
Grey ashes overspread.
Charred red-brick and stone walls.
Standing on the ground.
The heritage of Lysychansk.

One of the best educational institutions in Luhansk region — Lysychansk Gymnasium burnt down.
"It was built more than 100 years ago by the Belgians. It was among the top 100 best schools in the country. The Gymnasium survived two world wars and the battle for the town in 2014, but burnt down because of animals without values in 2022," — said graduate Yana Honcharenko.
Yesterday through a targeted shelling the Gymnasium caught fire. It had been burning for several hours. The fire completely destroyed over a century-old architectural monument.
The Gymnasium built in the late 19th century is a part of the ensemble of Belgian architectural heritage of Lysychansk.
Lysychansk Multidisciplinary Gymnasium was repeatedly ranked at the best educational institutions of Ukraine, its graduates always passed the external independent evaluation with high performance and entered the best higher educational institutions in the country.

"Aware of a poet?
Aware of a poet?
A poet of Cossack broods over the land.
Not noting a bullet.
Not noting a bullet.
You see a poet of Cossack in Borodyanka."
