POETS WOUNDED

“I thought my leg.

Was torn off.

But I was more worried.

About my son and wife.”

A wounded family from Chernihiv.

Is being treated in Ohmatdyt.

The family has to go through.

A long healing process.

The son is only.

6 years old.

Before the war, he went to.

The first grade in school.

His favorite subject.

Was mathematics.

Chernihiv was under constant shelling.

Since the first days of the war.

The school, which the boy.

Loved so much.

Was also damaged.

During the attacks.

After the first week of the war.

The apartment where.

The family stayed.

Had no heating and electricity.

After another three days.

The water was turned off.

The family lived using only.

A few liters of water.

That they managed to stock up.

On March 17, they used.

All the water they had.

They decided to split up:

The father would go.

To look for water.

And his wife and child would be.

Heading to the bomb shelter.

But as soon as.

They left the building.

The shelling started.

They heard the first blast.

It was a cluster munition.

“Everything around me.

Started exploding.

The windows in the house were broken.”

“I felt that something hit my leg.

And I was in a lot of pain.

Then there was an explosion.

Next to my son.”

“We all fell to the ground.

And my wife and I.

Tried to cover the child.

With our bodies.”

“I thought my leg.

Was torn off.

But I was more worried.

About my son and wife.”

6-year-old boy.

Received abdominal injuries.

Multiple shrapnel wounds.

To his legs.

A fracture of.

The lower limb and.

2 fragments were stuck.

In the child’s back.

His mother suffered.

Identical leg injuries.

The shrapnel cut.

Her artery.

He immediately pulled.

The belt of the bag.

Around his wife’s leg.

To stop the bleeding.

The father says.

He was surprised.

To see his leg.

Was still there.

“I thought my leg.

Was torn off.

But I was more worried.

About my son and wife.”

The son, the mother.

And the father were taken.

To different hospitals.

In Chernihiv.

They saw many wounded and dead.

On the streets and in hospitals.

For four days.

The parents didn’t know.

The whereabouts of their child.

All the family members.

Were badly injured.

And couldn’t move.

The doctors didn’t know.

The name of the 6-year-old.

So he wasn’t registered.

Under his name.

But, in the end, the parents.

Were able to find their son.

The family hasn’t seen.

Each other for 16 days.

The boy’s injury was so severe.

That Chernihiv doctors had to.

Remove over 60 centimeters.

Of his intestinal.

Volunteers helped the family.

Evacuate to Kyiv.

To continue.

Their treatment there.

The entire family is now.

In the Ohmatdyt’s department.

Of orthopedics.

And traumatology.

Our doctors performed.

Surgeries for all victims.

And removed the fragments.

From their bodies.

“I thought my leg.

Was torn off.

But I was more worried.

About my son and wife.”

A POET BURSTING INTO TEARS

“My family was killed.

In front of me.”

A 41-year-old lost his family.

During the evacuation from Bucha.

His wife and two sons.

Of age nine and four.

They all died while.

Trying to evacuate from Bucha.

He was seriously.

Injured himself.

And his leg.

Was amputated.

A week after the tragedy.

His neighbor found the bodies.

Of his wife and two sons.

And buried them.

He can’t say the three names.

Without bursting into tears.

Those are the names.

Of his wife and two sons.

He and his family moved.

To Bucha in 2014.

When the ‘orcs’ occupied.

His native Donetsk.

He fled to the Kyiv region.

With his extended family:

Both his parents and his.

Brother’s family came with them.

In Bucha, they built.

Their new happy life.

He and his wife.

Had another baby.

The eldest son was.

A model student at school.

In Bucha, they built.

Their new happy life.

He can’t say the three names.

Without bursting into tears.

Those are the names.

Of his wife and two sons.

From the beginning of.

The full-scale ‘orcs’ invasion.

The family has been.

Staying in Bucha.

They didn’t want to leave.

Their grandfather who was paralyzed.

The family lived in the basement.

For more than a week.

They were living.

Without gas or water.

But fortunately, they has.

A well in the yard.

But the shelling hasn’t.

Stopped for a moment.

So they finally decided.

To flee.

He can’t say the three names.

Without bursting into tears.

Those are the names.

Of his wife and two sons.

On March 6.

They and their neighbors.

Packed their staff.

And left the house.

He says they were driving.

Very slowly so that.

It was clear that.

They were civilians.

The family managed to drive.

Only 300 meters.

When the ‘orcs’.

Opened fire on them.

The civilian cars were shot at.

By two infantry combat vehicles.

“The children were killed.

At once.”

“When I turned around.

To look at them.

They were already dead.

I looked at my wife.”

“She said something.

To me and then.

That’s it… she also died.”

He says crying.

He can’t say the three names.

Without bursting into tears.

Those are the names.

Of his wife and two sons.

His leg was severely injured.

Part of it was almost.

Torn off, he says.

Their neighbors’ cars also.

And the driver died on the spot.

The driver’s wife and godfather.

Managed to escape from the attack.

And hide in the woods.

When the ‘orcs’.

Infantry combat vehicles left.

People passing the scene saved him.

And took him to a nearby hospital.

His leg was amputated.

Then he was taken to Ohmatdyt.

He underwent.

Numerous surgeries.

Now the child is.

A child with intestinal pathology.

This girl is only.

7 months old.

She was admitted to Ohmatdyt.

With a serious condition.

This girl is only.

7 months old.

The doctors have diagnosed.

Her with intussusception.

Such a condition can be.

Developed by children of.

Age from 4 months to a year.

Due to a sudden change in diet.

Because of the war.

And lack of food.

The girl’s mother couldn’t.

Feed her as usual.

This girl is only.

7 months old.

The new food caused.

Severe pathology.

The war doesn’t let patients.

Get timely diagnosis:

Ohmatdyt doctors rescued.

A child with intestinal pathology.

During the hostilities.

The parents weren’t.

Able to receive proper.

Timely medical care.

When she was admitted to Ohmatdyt.

The 7-month-old required surgery.

The girl has spent 4 hours.

In the operation room.

During the surgery.

The doctors also diagnosed her.

With necrosis of intestinal particles.

And removed the affected area.

If the pathology had been.

Diagnosed on the first day.

The surgery wouldn’t.

Have been required.

Our hospital admits.

Almost 30 patients.

With intussusception.

Yearly.

Now the child is.

In intensive care and.

Continues her treatment.

A POET ON A BIRTHDAY

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

‘Orcs’ captured, but he’s back to.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

The story of a 10-year-old is.

Unfortunately.

One of the many stories.

Of Mariupol children.

From the beginning of.

The full-scale ‘orcs’ invasion.

He and his mother stayed.

In their hometown.

And lived in the basement.

One day they ran.

To their neighbors.

To escape the shelling.

But they didn’t manage.

To get there safely.

That day, the woman.

Suffered a head injury.

But they didn’t manage.

To get there safely.

That day, the boy’s leg.

Was injured.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

‘Orcs’ captured, but he’s back to.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

His mother practically.

Carried her son.

To the apartment of.

Their acquaintances alone.

Wounded and exhausted.

The boy and the mother.

Lay on the couch.

And hugged each other.

The mother was.

Hugging her son.

Until her heartbeat.

Stopped.

She died in the arms.

Of her son.

Then, their acquaintances.

Took the woman’s body.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

‘Orcs’ captured, but he’s back to.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

And the next day.

The ‘orcs’ military.

Forcibly took the boy.

To occupied Novoazovsk.

And from there.

To Donetsk.

His leg was fragmented.

Into pieces.

The local doctors.

In the occupied territories.

Considered amputating it but.

Managed to save the limb.

Meanwhile, his grandmother.

In Ukraine was looking for.

All possible ways.

To get her grandson back.

She got custody of the boy.

And crossed the borders.

Of the four countries.

To take the boy back to her.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

‘Orcs’ captured, but he’s back to.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

It so happened that.

He arrived at Ohmatdyt.

On his birthday.

When he turned 10.

‘Gandalf the Green’ came.

To congratulate the boy.

On his return.

In person.

‘Gandalf the Green’’s team.

Has put a lot of effort.

To get the boy back.

To Ukraine.

Shortly after.

According to his grandmother.

The boy had his symbolic second.

Birthday celebration at the hospital.

When doctors said that.

The boy’s leg was.

Fully functional and.

He would be able to walk.

The boy is already.

Able to move his fingers.

On the injured leg.

He is determined to recover.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

‘Orcs’ captured, but he’s back to.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

He is happy.

When the guests visit him.

But there’s still sadness.

In his eyes.

What this sincere and.

Kind boy had to go through.

Is unimaginable and unforgivable.

He needs long rehabilitation.

The story of this 10-year-old is.

Unfortunately.

One of the many stories.

Of Mariupol children.

‘Orcs’ captured the land.

A POET CHERISHING

The girl cherishes a dream:

She wants to play.

A black seven-string guitar.

After the victory.

She is 13 years old.

Until February 24.

She lived a happy life.

In her native village.

She was in 7th grade.

She loved anatomy.

And drawing.

And learned to play the guitar.

The girl and her family had been.

Living in the Mykolaiv region.

On March 5.

‘Orcs’ soldiers shelled her village.

At this time.

She and her mother were.

Tapping windows.

To protect themselves.

From the shock wave.

after the explosion.

She doesn’t really remember.

How it all happened.

She said she heard.

The whistle of a rocket.

And then her mother shouted:

“Sonya, run!”

The girl managed to take.

Three steps away from the window.

When a piece of metal hit.

Her in the temple.

She fell to the ground.

And lost consciousness.

The girl’s mother also had.

Her face injured by the shell.

The shrapnel hit a vessel.

Near the mother’s nose.

The woman’s face was.

Covered in blood.

The girl’s mother says that.

The roof above their kitchen.

Now has a hall through which.

You can see the sky.

The girl cherishes a dream:

She wants to play.

A black seven-string guitar.

After the victory.

The ‘orcs’ rocket hit.

The family’s house.

The girl was taken to.

The local hospital in Mykolaiv.

Despite the constant shelling.

The local doctors performed.

Surgery on her but were unable.

To retrieve the shrapnel.

For some time.

She was put into.

A medicated deep sleep.

The doctors fought for her life every day.

Her mother was.

Even afraid to.

Ask about the child’s.

Chances of survival.

For almost four weeks.

She lived with a metal fragment.

In her head because it was.

Very dangerous to get it out.

The child’s right limbs.

Were hardly working.

All this time she was.

Suffering from a headache.

The girl cherishes a dream:

She wants to play.

A black seven-string guitar.

After the victory.

On March 29.

The girl and her mother were taken.

To Ohmatdyt to remove the fragment.

That had already caused inflammation.

The shrapnel was stuck.

Deeply in the girl’s head:

It was in the middle between.

The hemispheres of the brain.

Our doctors performed.

Trepanation of the skull.

And removed the fragment with.

The help of an ultramodern ultrasound.

The metal fragment was.

Close to a huge vessel.

In the child’s brain.

But the surgery went well.

The mother says that.

The girl was looking forward to.

The surgery so that.

“Her head would finally stop hurting”.

When the girl regained.

Consciousness after the surgery.

She immediately.

Thanked the doctors.

Now, she continues.

Her treatment in Ohmatdyt.

She is going through.

Rehabilitation and.

Slowly learning to use.

Her right hand again.

She wants to get back to.

Her favorite hobby – drawing.

She dreams of.

Spending the summer.

In her native village.

In the Mykolaiv region.

Swimming in a pond.

Catching snakes.

And playing the guitar.

In her native village.

The girl cherishes a dream:

She wants to play.

A black seven-string guitar.

POETS CROSSING A BRIDGE

When the family has decided to flee.

All the major bridges.

In the city were.

Already destroyed.

There was only one road left.

But ‘orcs’ soldiers.

Didn’t stop shooting.

All day.

As soon as the family.

Crossed the bridge.

And got out of the car.

The enemy started yet another attack.

The first shell hit.

A car next to them.

Just 5 meters away.

The car exploded.

Fortunately.

There were no people inside.

The entire family.

Were injured by shrapnel.

The mother and the little boy.

His father.

Older sister.

And her boyfriend.

5-year-old was badly.

Injured in the leg.

Then, the ‘orcs’ fired.

Another 20 shells.

“When I ran to the car.

I saw injured people.

Laying around, some of them.

Has lost their limbs.”

“I saw a dead woman.”

The mother says.

They tied the child’s leg.

With a tourniquet.

And rushed him to.

The nearest local hospital.

On the way, the little boy said.

That he didn’t feel pain at all.

Although his mother could not.

Even look at his injured leg.

The family received first aid.

At a small local hospital.

When the child talks.

About the war.

His mother cannot hold back.

Her tears.

The mother didn’t dare to.

Leave the city earlier.

Because her eldest son served.

In the Armed Forces in Chernihiv.

Then, the boy was.

Sent to Ohmatdyt.

The family is currently treated.

At the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department.

Ohmatdyt doctors.

Performed surgeries.

On the victims and.

Removed numerous fragments.

There is no threat.

To their life now.

The family is.

In rehabilitation.

Up until recently.

This family from Chernihiv.

Had refused to leave.

Their hometown.

Although it was becoming.

More dangerous.

For them to stay.

With each passing day.

Their house has been.

Under fire.

Since the first day of.

The full-scale ‘orcs’ invasion.

Overall, the family.

Has spent a month.

In Chernihiv.

Under fire.

When the child talks.

About the war.

His mother cannot hold back.

Her tears.

The mother didn’t dare to.

Leave the city earlier.

Because her eldest son served.

In the Armed Forces in Chernihiv.

For over two weeks.

There was no gas.

Electricity, water, and.

Heating in their apartment.

A mother of three.

Recalls that.

They had to cook.

The food outside.

“We learned how to define.

the type of shelling by its sound.

The house was shaking.

From the constant shelling.”

“We used to spend the night.

Either in the basement or.

In the corridor because.

The worst began at night.”

Her 5-year-old son recalls:

“It was dark in the basement.

There was only one lamp.

And there was no food.”

The boy adds:

“They fired at us.

Very, very hard.

It was scary.”

A POET ADDRESSING

In her notebook.

There are hearts addressed.

To a person who will never be.

Able to see them again — MUM.

A 6-year-old girl had to.

Become an adult.

In an instant when her mother.

Died before her eyes.

Okhmatdyt specialists fought.

For the girl's health.

The life of her was absolutely.

Normal 2 weeks ago.

It seems like an eternity.

Has passed since then.

Before the war.

She had a close-knit family:

Mum, dad.

9-year-old brother.

And also her grandmother.

Aunt and uncle.

The girl went to the 1st grade.

Found friends.

Loved maths lessons and.

Was fond of drawing.

In her notebook.

There are hearts addressed.

To a person who will never be.

Able to see them again - MUM.

On 28 February.

This child's life was divided.

Into “before” and “after”.

At that moment.

The family was near Gostomel.

In the Kyiv region.

A place where the population is.

Now being held hostage.

By the occupiers.

Where fighting and.

A humanitarian crisis.

Are ongoing.

The girl's father says that.

That fateful morning was.

Quiet until a rocket hit.

A neighbouring house.

The family took cover.

In one of the rooms.

Of their house.

But 30 seconds later.

Another rocket hit the room.

Where all the people were.

The girl’s aunt's foot.

Was blown off.

And the aunt had to.

Have her leg amputated.

To the knee.

The child's life was divided.

The rest of the family.

Received shrapnel wounds.

But the girl's mother was.

The most unlucky.

She died in front of.

Her husband and two children.

The child's life was divided.

The girl was also injured.

The shrapnel damaged.

Her lower limbs.

The right foot sustained.

The most damage.

The girl has already undergone.

Several surgical interventions:

Shrapnel and non-viable tissue.

Were removed.

And skin grafts were performed.

On the affected areas.

Now the girl is in Okhmatdyt.

Continues treatment.

And psychologists are.

Working with her.

Now the little girl has realized.

That her mother is gone.

She began to talk about her.

In the past tense.

And every time.

She cries at the memory.

Of the terrible events.

This child's life was divided.

Into “before” and “after”.

The child still draws.

In her notebook.

There are hearts addressed.

To a person who will never be.

Able to see them again - MUM.

The father is always.

With his daughter.

He was wounded.

By shrapnel himself.

But it doesn't seem to.

Bother him much.

The other day.

He buried his wife.

So now his children.

Are all he has.

The father does not leave.

His daughter's bedside.

And cannot contain.

His emotions:

“God forbid anyone.

Should go through this.”

“Before the war started.

We lived a completely normal life.

My wife and I worked.

Our children went to school.”

“She started first grade.

Only this year.

We had a happy life.

Now everything has changed.”

“Now everything has changed.

Now innocent people are dying.

Now we need help.

For the whole of Ukraine.”

In her notebook.

There are hearts addressed.

To a person who will never be.

Able to see them again - MUM.

POETS SAVING

War means blood.

Tears and.

Irreparable losses.

every day.

Okhmatdyt appeals.

To the whole world:

The war must be stopped.

Please stop this.

Our doctors are now saving.

Children and adults.

Who have sustained.

Combat injuries.

War means blood.

Tears and.

Irreparable losses.

every day.

Okhmatdyt appeals.

To the whole world:

The war must be stopped.

Please stop this.

Doctors are living.

In the hospital.

And doing their best to save.

As many lives as possible.

War means blood.

Tears and.

Irreparable losses.

every day.

Okhmatdyt appeals.

To the whole world:

The war must be stopped.

Please stop this.

No child should ever.

Have to cry again.

Because an ‘orcs’ shell killed.

One of their relatives.

War means blood.

Tears and.

Irreparable losses.

every day.

Okhmatdyt appeals.

To the whole world:

The war must be stopped.

POETS ALWAYS SAD

If we ask the girl.

What she wants.

We will hear the voice of.

The whole of Ukraine:

“What I want most.

Is to go home.

And for the war.

To stop.”

She is a native resident.

Of Irpin.

She is an ophthalmologist.

By profession.

When the war broke out.

She just took.

Her parents from.

The hospital in Bucha.

They had no sooner finished.

Their treatment for covid.

Than the family was.

In trouble again.

The family waited.

A few days.

And decided it was time.

To evacuate the city.

The family drove two cars.

To the ‘orcs’ checkpoint.

That's when the worst began:

‘Orcs’ soldiers started shooting.

At civilian cars with mortars.

A mine exploded 10 metres.

Away from the car where.

She was sitting.

The woman and her.

7-year-old daughter received.

Severe shrapnel wounds.

Their legs were severely injured.

The mother and the girl were.

Taken to an Irpin hospital.

Both stayed there.

For three days.

The mother and the girl say.

The shelling did not.

Stop for a moment.

For three days.

If we ask the girl.

What she wants.

We will hear the voice of.

The whole of Ukraine:

“What I want most.

Is to go home.

And for the war.

To stop.”

In the end.

They decided to evacuate.

The wounded by ambulance.

To Kyiv.

There was only one way.

To escape.

Across the destroyed bridge.

There, ‘elves’ soldiers.

Carried the mother.

On a wheelchair.

And one soldier carried.

The girl in his arms.

The girl still remembers.

Her saviour – “Uncle Seryozha”.

The guy promised.

To buy her a bike.

Now the girl is in Okhmatdyt.

And is sure to recover.

Our doctors operated.

On many patients.

During the 14 days.

Of the war.

On many patients who were.

Injured during the war.

The mother and daughter were.

Diagnosed with severe damage.

To the soft tissues.

Of the thighs.

Both underwent surgeries.

And had shrapnel removed.

The mother also had a piece of.

glass stuck in her arm.

It is very risky.

To remove it from there.

It will probably stay with.

The woman for life.

If we ask the girl.

What she wants.

We will hear the voice of.

The whole of Ukraine:

“What I want most.

Is to go home.

And for the war.

To stop.”

The mother's elderly.

Parents stayed in Irpin.

Where there is no connection.

Electricity or water.

Nothing is known.

About their fate.

The woman can't hold back.

Her tears:

Her father was born.

In 1937.

And survived.

The Second World War.

But he may not survive.

The current war.

The little girl is.

Always very sad.

If we ask the girl.

What she wants.

We will hear the voice of.

The whole of Ukraine:

“What I want most.

Is to go home.

And for the war.

To stop.”

POETS SAYING GOODBYE

“We were walking.

And saying goodbye.

To our lives.

Every second.”

A 14-year-old.

Son's own father.

Was killed.

In front of him.

A large family lived.

In Bucha.

The youngest of the three sons.

Recently turned 14.

On 17 March.

Together with his father.

He went to the centre.

Of the occupied city.

To get humanitarian aid.

And medicine.

He went to the centre.

Of the occupied city.

At that time, the family's house.

Had been without gas.

Electricity and water.

For almost two weeks.

“We were riding our bikes.

When an ‘orc’ soldier.

Came out from.

Behind the house.”

“We stopped.

Raised our hands.

Said we had.

No weapons.”

“But the soldier started.

Shooting at my father.

He fell down.

Then the soldier started shooting at me.”

“Two bullets hit my arm.

I fell to the ground.

The soldier also shot at my hood.

But the bullet did not hit my head.”

Says the 14-year-old.

The son of the deceased.

The child stayed on the ground.

For several minutes.

And when the ‘orc’ soldier left.

The boy ran to.

The nearest shelter.

Where he received first aid.

Then he got home and.

Told his family that.

His father had been killed.

The father was 47 years old.

“We were walking.

And saying goodbye.

To our lives.

Every second.”

A 14-year-old.

Son's own father.

Was killed.

In front of him.

For two days.

The family could not.

Take his father's body.

When they did.

The white bandage that.

Identifies civilians was.

No longer on.

The victim's arm.

It had been removed.

By the ‘orcs’ military.

In addition, they stole.

His phone, wallet and.

Even the keys to the house.

The wife of the deceased says.

That the ‘orcs’ monster shot.

At the heart and head.

The family had to.

Bury their father.

In the yard of their house.

On their own.

“My three sons were left.

Without a father.

I realised that I needed to save.

My children and myself.”

“We were told that.

There would be.

A 'green corridor'.

On 19 March.”

“But we had to get to.

The gathering point on our own.

We walked along the street.

Where my husband was shot.”

“We were walking and praying.

For our lives every second.

We heard explosions nearby.

‘Orcs’ killers stopped us.”

“We were walking.

And saying goodbye.

To our lives.

Every second.”

A 14-year-old.

Son's own father.

Was killed.

In front of him.

The family miraculously.

Evacuated to Cherkasy region.

And yesterday they came.

To the Ohmatdyt.

To get medical help.

For their son.

And officially register.

His injury.

The boy received a gunshot wound.

To the arm.

Forearm and finger.

Now the child's life is not in danger.

“We were walking.

And saying goodbye.

To our lives.

Every second.”

POETS MOURNING

The moment the missile struck.

Had been “like in a film”.

With a “big light.

Then an awful sound”.

“One part of the hospital.

Was destroyed.

And there was.

A fire in another.”

“It's really very damaged.

Maybe 60-70%.

Of the hospital.”

A doctor at the hospital said.

Hospital personnel.

And volunteers formed.

A human chain.

To clear the rubble.

Pictures from the scene showed.

Young children - some with IV drips -.

Sitting outside the hospital.

As it was evacuated.

Kyiv's mayor said.

The two who died.

At the hospital were adults.

One of whom was a doctor.

He added that.

Rescuers feared.

More people were trapped.

Under the rubble.

Hospital personnel.

And volunteers formed.

A human chain.

To clear the rubble.

Ohmatdyt is.

A major hospital which.

And organ transplants.

“Now we are in the process.

Of evacuating patients.

To the nearest hospital.”

The doctor at the hospital said.

“But many patients are intubated.

And on ventilators and.

Cannot have contact with.

Other patients or go outside.”

Hospital personnel.

And volunteers formed.

A human chain.

‘Mordor’ of attempting.

The “genocide of.

The population in Ukraine”.

“Right now the whole world can.

See how ‘orcs’ missiles and.

Kamikaze drones killed ‘elves’.

Citizens in our peaceful city.”

Hospital personnel.

And volunteers formed.

A human chain.

To clear the rubble.

Rescue workers.

And medics dug.

Through the rubble.

To look for survivors.

Though it was unclear.

How many were still trapped.

On Monday afternoon.

Kyiv's Mayor said.
